Tony Rivers and the Castaways formed in County Durham. They released six major singles in the 1960s. Tony Rivers went on to play with Cockney Rebel and Roger Daltry before starting the band Harmony Grass. He later worked extensively with Cliff Richard.

The Chasers were founded in Romford in 1960 and released minor hit tracks, “Hey Little Girl” and “That’s What They Call Love” and later released “Inspiration” and “The Ways of men”. Band member Len Tuckey went on to join the Riot Squad and later married American singer-songwriter Suzi Quatro.
