After leaving the Spencer Davis Group, in 1967 Steve Winwood formed Traffic in Birmingham. Members included Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason. Their big hits included “Paper Sun”, “Hole in my Shoe”, “Here we go ‘Round the Mulberry Bush”, and “The Low Sparks of the High Heeled Boys”. Their top albums included Mr. Fantasy, Last Exit (live) and John Barleycorn Must Die. In 1968 Steve Winwood and Chris Wood played regularly with Jimi Hendrix and appeared on his album, Electric Ladyland. Winwood went on to form Blind Faith with Eric Clapton. Chris Wood had a long solo career, and his track, “Feelin’ Alright” was later covered and recorded by Joe Cocker and Three Dog Night. After being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 2004, Traffic recorded a reunion album titled The Last Great Traffic Jam in 2005.
