Hedgehoppers Anonymous were all members of the Royal Air Force and formed the band in 1965. Their biggest hit, “It’s Good News Week’” recorded with Decca Records, has played on Australian TV up to 2000. Joe Loss their violinist was one of the most successful bandleaders in Britain. He had future success with hits “The Stripper” and “March of the Mods”. One of his singers, Ross MacManus, is the father of Elvis Costello. Joe Loss went on to receive an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the Queen’s honor. Dave Allen became one of Britain’s most loved observational and controversial comedians. He ran two long running BBC TV series, The Dave Allen Show as well as Dave Allen at Large. He was a comedic influence to Howard Stern and Adam Sandler. Dave Allen received the British Comedy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996.
