Friday March 29th, 1968

The Ray King Soul Pact formed between Coventry and Warwickshire in the mid 1960s. Their featured album was titled, Live at the Apollo. Over their career they notably played with Ike and Tina Turner, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Wonder. Members of the band later formed The Specials.

The Bach Denkel Purists formed in Birmingham in the late 1960s and soon moved to France where they had a strong following with their album titled Lemmings. They also played with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and were described by Rolling Stone magazine as “Britain’s Greatest Unknown Group”.
