The Who brought together the talents of Pete Townshend, Roger Daltry, John Entwhistle and Keith Moon (later replaced by Kenney Jones) in the east end of London in 1964. They were noted for the mod sub-culture where they popularized the union jack image. Among others, tracks like “I Can’t Explain”, “My Generation” and “Substitute” made them famous, followed by the rock operas Tommy 1969 and Quadrophenia 1973. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and Kennedy Centre Honors in 2008.
Oscar Bicycle were a Devon band well known on the University circuit.
